Although Thailand, as a travel destination, is known for the picturesque cities, tasty cuisine, travel tours, top hotels and one of the most pleasant people in the world, for many people, the biggest treasure of this country located in Southeast Asia are the beaches found there. Many experts in this field claim that Thailand has the best beaches in the world. Most of these beaches are located on some of the 1.000 islands found in Thailand. Now let’s highlight some information about some of the most popular islands in this part of the world.
Phuket Island
Phuket Island is not only the biggest island, but also the most visited one. This is the place where you can find the world-famous Patong beach. Although Patong was a fishing village not while ago, today this is one of the world’s travel hotspots. Phuket Island is active 24/7 and besides the beautiful beaches, people can enjoy the amazing nightlife, restaurants, natural attractions and fitness activities like Muay Thai.
Koh Samui
Koh Samui is another popular island among travelers from around the globe. It is located on the other coast. Chaweng beach is probably the most popular one and this is why in the recent years many exclusive hotels and bungalows were opened here. Koh Samui has miles-long beaches and they are all beautiful. If you are looking for a beach that is not very crowded you should visit Choeng Mon located on the northeast part of Koh Samui.

Ko Phi Phi Leh
This is a very small island located close to Phuket Island. People who spend their holidays on Phuket Island usually take daily trips to Ko Phi Phi Leh. It is worth mentioning that this is a preserved area and you cannot actually stay on the island and sleep there. If you remember the amazing lagoon and the sandy white beach from the movie “The beach” you will find this area familiar because this is where this movie was filmed.
Ko Phi Phi Don
This island may not have much to offer to all types of tourists, but it is certainly a paradise for those who love scuba diving and sunbathing on white sandy beaches.
